Settlement Overview

The Stoneledge Furniture Settlement resolves the class action lawsuit Ryan Cornateanu v. Stoneledge Furniture, LLC(Case No. 21STCV09403) filed in the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles. The lawsuit alleged that Stoneledge Furniture, LLC — operating Ashley HomeStore locations in California — advertised inflated “original” or “regular” prices that were higher than actual market or invoice prices, misleading consumers into believing they were getting larger discounts than they truly received. These alleged practices were said to violate California’s Unfair Competition Law (UCL) and the Consumer Legal Remedies Act (CLRA). Stoneledge denies liability but agreed to settle the action to avoid prolonged litigation.  


Under the settlement, eligible class members can receive monetary compensation from a $750,000 settlement fund and a $35 voucher for use at any Stoneledge-owned Ashley HomeStore location. Claimants must submit a valid Claim Form by the deadline to receive a cash payment and the voucher. Any unclaimed funds may be distributed on a pro rata basisor donated to a cy pres recipient such as the National Consumer Law Center.  

Who Is Eligible?

You may be eligible to file a claim if you:

  • Made one or more purchases at an Ashley HomeStore owned and operated by Stoneledge Furniture, LLC in California between March 9, 2017 and March 27, 2022.
  • The product’s “original price” or “regular price” was advertised as higher than the actual price (by at least $10 more than invoice price for qualifying purchases).
  • Purchased for personal use, not for resale or commercial distribution.
  • Submit a valid Claim Form by the deadline


How to File a Claim

  1. Visit the official settlement website and click Submit Claim.
  2. Complete the Claim Form online or download, print, and mail the form.
  3. Provide required contact information (name, email, phone).
  4. Include the Class Member ID if you received a settlement notice.
  5. Indicate your preferred payment method (electronic transfer or paper check).
  6. Mail the completed form so it is postmarked by February 10, 2026, or submit it online by that date. 


Documentation Requirements

Proof Required:

  • You must include your Class Member ID from the mailed or emailed notice when submitting a claim.
  • Contact information (phone and email) is required.
  • You may be asked for proof of purchase records if the Administrator needs to verify your claim, though initial filing typically relies on the information you provide.  

No Proof Option:

  • There is no option for a claim with “no proof.” Submitting the Class Member ID and contact details is necessary to process payment and voucher issuance.  


Payout Details

  • Total Settlement Amount: $750,000 gross fund, before deductions for administration and attorneys’ fees.  
  • Cash Payment: Eligible claimants will receive a pro rata cash payment based on total valid claims and the remaining fund after deductions.  
  • Shopping Voucher: Each claimant approved for benefits also receives a $35 voucher valid for use at any Stoneledge-owned Ashley HomeStore (expires 180 days after issuance).  
  • Unclaimed Funds: Remaining unclaimed cash may be donated to a cy pres recipient such as the National Consumer Law Center.
