Settlement Overview
This class action settlement resolves claims that PetSafe’s e-collars, pet-barrier products, and in-ground or wireless fence systems were marketed as safe, while allegedly the company omitted or misrepresented safety risks. The lawsuit (Hernandez v. Radio Systems Corporation) contends the products carried risks and were advertised with misleading safety assurances. The defendant denies wrongdoing but has agreed to a $1.9 million non-reversionary fund to settle the case.
Eligible claimants in California who purchased covered PetSafe products between October 1, 2018 and October 31, 2022 may file a claim to receive a cash payout (per product purchased), subject to pro-rata adjustment based on total claims submitted.
Class members may submit up to three (3) products without needing proof of purchase; claims for more than three require proof.
Payments will be distributed through one or more approved methods (e.g. direct deposit, virtual prepaid card, check), once the court grants final approval (fairness hearing scheduled for January 26, 2026).

• PetSafe Wireless Pet Containment System / Wireless Fence Products

• PetSafe Barrier / Pet Barrier products (indoor/outdoor)
Who Is Eligible?
• Purchase occurred in California between Oct 1, 2018 and Oct 31, 2022.
• Products must be among the defined “covered” PetSafe e-collars, fences, barrier or containment products.
• Claim must be filed by the eligible deadline.
How to File a Claim
1. Visit the official settlement claim website and choose “Submit Claim.”
2. Indicate the type and number of PetSafe products you purchased. Up to 3 products require no proof.
3. For more than 3 products, provide proof of purchase (receipt, order confirmation, etc.).
4. Provide your contact and payment information, and sign the claim under penalty of perjury.
5. Submit your claim before the deadline (December 2, 2025).
Documentation Requirements
• Up to 3 products can be claimed without proof of purchase (just a sworn attestation).
• For claims for more than 3 products, proof of purchase is required (receipts, order confirmations, invoices, etc.).
Payout Details
• Bark Collar Products: $30 each
• Barrier Products: $35 each
• In-Ground Fence Products: $90 each
• Wireless Fence Products: $140 each
Because the total fund is fixed at $1.9 million, actual payments may be reduced depending on total valid claims.
