What Is the Flo App Data Privacy Settlement?
A class action lawsuit, Frasco et al. v. Flo Health Inc., et al. (No. 3:21-cv-00757, N.D. Cal.), alleged that between November 1, 2016 and February 28, 2019, the Flo period tracking app shared sensitive menstruation and pregnancy data with third parties — including Google, Meta (Facebook), and Flurry — through embedded software development kits (SDKs), without users' knowledge or consent.
While Flo, Google, and Flurry deny all wrongdoing, they have agreed to settle the claims to avoid the cost and uncertainty of continued litigation. A separate trial against Meta concluded on August 1, 2025, with a jury verdict in favor of the plaintiffs — eligible class members may receive additional compensation from that verdict separately.
How Much Is the Settlement Fund?
The total settlement fund is $59,500,000, broken down as follows:
- Google LLC: $48,000,000
- Flo Health, Inc.: $8,000,000
- Flurry, Inc.: $3,500,000
After deducting notice and administration costs, attorneys' fees, litigation expenses, and service awards for representative plaintiffs, the remaining funds will be distributed to eligible class members who submit valid and timely claim forms.
