Apple Siri Privacy Settlement

Apple Siri privacy settlement for unauthorized voice recording and data collection by Apple devices.

Settlement Overview

This class action settlement resolves privacy claims against Apple related to allegations that Siri voice assistant recordings were inadvertently activated and recorded without user knowledge or consent. The lawsuit alleged that Apple devices with Siri enabled would sometimes activate and record private conversations even when users had not intended to activate the voice assistant. These recordings were then allegedly reviewed by Apple contractors and third-party vendors. The settlement provides compensation to users who owned Apple devices with Siri capability during the relevant time period. Eligible claimants can receive cash payments, with options for both documented and undocumented claims.

Who Is Eligible?

You are eligible if you owned or used an Apple device with Siri enabled (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Apple Watch, Apple TV, HomePod, or Mac computer) at any time during the specified class period. Both primary and secondary users of eligible devices may file claims. You do not need to prove that your conversations were actually recorded.

How to File a Claim

To submit a claim, visit the official settlement website and complete the claim form online. You will need to provide information about the Apple device(s) you owned during the class period, including device model and approximate dates of ownership. The claim form is straightforward and typically takes 5-10 minutes to complete. You can also request a paper claim form by mail.

Documentation Requirements

No documentation is required for the basic settlement claim. If you can provide proof of device ownership (such as purchase receipts or device serial numbers), it may strengthen your claim but is not mandatory. For claims of specific damages related to the alleged privacy violations, supporting documentation would be helpful but not required for the standard payment.

Payout Details

Per-device payment: $20-$50 for each eligible Apple device, up to a maximum of 5 devices per household. The actual payment amount will depend on the total number of valid claims submitted. Payments may be higher for claimants who can document specific privacy-related harm. Settlement checks or electronic payments will be distributed within 90-120 days after final court approval.
